Tennesseans Against Teen Drinking is an outgrowth of the national We Don’t Serve Teens program, an effort of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), industry leaders, law enforcement, and public officials to curb underage drinking by reminding adults that serving minors is illegal, unhealthy and unsafe.
In the fall of 2007, We Don’t Serve Teens held events across the state of Tennessee in Chattanooga, Knoxville, Memphis and Nashville to raise awareness of underage drinking. The events were attended by sheriffs, public officials, alcohol retailers and wholesalers who joined forces in a united effort to keep alcohol out of the hands of Tennessee teenagers.
As part of the initiative, wine and spirits wholesalers distributed signage and point-of-purchase materials promoting the We Don’t Serve Teens message to each of the retail outlets they service across the state.
The fight against underage drinking is the responsibility of every person in our community. For materials for your own hometown, please email information@stopteendrinkingtn.org.
